Jim Murren Oversees Launch of UAE Lottery And Future Gambling Frameworks
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has devoted to launching a nationwide lotto, supervised by The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA).
On Sunday, the GCGRA revealed that it had granted its 'UAE Lottery' contract to The Game LLC, which is charged with releasing the Gulf area's first national lotto item and associated services.
The statement coincided with the launch of the GCGRA official website as "the authority holding special jurisdiction to manage, license, and monitor all industrial gaming activities and centers in the United Arab Emirates."
In 2023, the UAE revealed that it had recruited former MGM Resorts CEO Jim Murren and associate Kevin Mullaly to function as Chairman and CEO of the GCGRA as a regulatory body exploring industrial chances in gaming.
At the time, the appointments of Murren and Mullaly pointed to the UAE launching an unique tender for gambling establishment resorts running under strict conditions in Ras Al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai.
Though yet to provide a regulatory framework, the website states that the "GCGRA has a required to control and supervise all commercial video gaming activities in the UAE, consisting of lottery, web gaming, sports betting, and land-based incorporated gaming facilities or resorts."
As such, the GCGRA is entrusted with releasing a well-regulated industrial gaming sector in the UAE, stressing transparency, responsibility, consumer security, and accountable gambling practices.
Reporting to the federal government, the GCGRA is more accountable for overseeing all organizations and individuals included in UAE gambling activities.
The GCGRA's role extends beyond just regulative oversight. It is also responsible for producing a safe environment for industrial video gaming to thrive, making sure that all activities are conducted in a socially responsible manner.
